Just a little update on my kids with their chores. I really don't have anything bad to say! They are doing such an awesome job! I would like to say that their chores have become a daily habit, but I know if I do say that, things will change. I can honestly say that I know they don't enjoy it (good to know they are normal!) but they LOVE it when pay day comes around. We are going to go to Bear World for Memorial Day weekend, and they are saving every last dollar for our vacation! Maybe they will be willing to pitch in for gas! LOL

B*O*W*L*I*N*G

My oldest brother has been in town this last week and excluding my grandmother's funeral that we all attended, my siblings and I had an enjoyable time together! Something I discovered though, is that I need to get my kids out more! They were so excited to be at the bowling alley, they didn't know what to do with themselves!! They were so cute!!! And I think they even bowled better then some of my brother's and sister! It was fun! :)

Dancing the night away!

Mackenzie had her first competition for the year. She was in 3 different dances (they wear the same costume for 2 of them). They did really good! They scored 100 (1st place) on one and 98 (2nd place) in the other 2 dances. It was a lot of fun. This year I found it kind of hard to video record and take pictures at the same time. Next competition there will be more pictures!! I love it!!!!! (and so does she!)

She was baptized!!

(yes that is a picture of my ex!) I can not believe how times flies!! My baby girl was baptized last Saturday! It was a great day. Friends and family traveled from all over Utah. The weather was nice and everybody got along. After this special event, we all went out and had dinner together. It was all in all very nice. Congratulations Mackenzie!!!

A funny story.....

So I decided that it was time for my kids to get allowance so I made a job chart and got all excited to show and tell the kids all about it and tied it into a family home evening about tithing. They only have to do 2 chores a day Mon-Fri. I mean come on, when I was their age I was doing it all uphill, barefoot both ways!! lol

Well when I was done, I told them that we were going to start tonight. Mackenzie started crying and told me that she has is so over worked and that it isn't right to make her do this. Coleman told me he was going to call the police on me and then he asked if Kaycee and Konner (their friends) had to do these disgusting things.....you see, this week Coleman on bathroom duty.

I kind of laughed and encouraged them to continue. I started loading the dishwasher (yeah, that is not even one of their chores) and all of the sudden Mackenzie pulls out this chore list that her Uncle Tracy had made for his kids when she was staying the night at his house a few weeks ago. She told me she wanted to do those chores. Needless to say, she cleaned the WHOLE house with a SMILE!! ha ha!!

Poor over worked children!!!

Our month of March

St Patty's day, Easter, Mackenzie's 8th bday party was all compacted in the month of March. Needless to say, we have been a little busy here at our house!!!

For her bday, I took some of her friends swimming. It was actually pretty fun and VERY easy!

We had an easter egg hunt at our friends house. They came home with enough candy to last a lifetime!

Our "lucky" breakfast!! (yeah, they were lucky I got up early and made it for them! ha ha ha)

Now you I am all caught up to date on my blogging!! I will have more to blog soon!!!!! Love ya!!

A night to remember......

Well we have had a "sick" month. From surgery, to flu, to ear infections, to strep then to the good old common cold, I am VERY happy to say that we are all better and are ready for summer to be here!!! Last night Mackenzie was invited to have a sleepover at her friends house so I decided I would take Coleman out on a date!! First of all we stayed in to eat the yummy stew I had in the crock pot. Then he took me to the mall and let me do a little shopping. After being dragged around the mall, we drove to get some ice cream and this was the conversation, "Mom, I am going to miss me when I grow up because I am such a fun little kid." "Look mom, there is a cloud that looks like dinosaur." "Mom, will you change the station because I don't really like this song." "Mom, I need $2.oo for my fieldtrip at school but you only need to give me $1.oo because I have this good luck penny in my pocket." "Mom, how long do I need to keep this golden ticket?" (referring to the receipt for the movie we just bought.) Then we got to Artic Circle and I told him I wanted to surprise him with the ice cream. He got so excited and he plugged his ears while I ordered. When he got the grape flavored vanilla ice cream cone, he was so happy with my choice that he almost didn't eat it because he just wanted to look at it! Then we got home and put a movie in, popped popcorn and had a "camp out" (yeah.....I camped out on the couch!). It was one of the best dates ever!! I love this little boy!!!
